After 15 years in the mastering business, Seth Foster has made an indelible mark as one of New York’s most accomplished engineers. Seth is known for his exceptional skill in maintaining technical balance while preserving the artist’s unique aesthetic. Working at the forefront of audio technology as an expert in all types of analog and digital equipment, Seth applies a modern approach to mastering while maintaining respect for classical analog foundations.
Seth is regularly sought out by A&R executives for catalog mastering, frontline rock, pop and jazz projects for major label and independent artists. He is widely respected in the jazz community for his historical restoration work, having completed several projects that received critical acclaim from The Recording Academy (NARAS). He has earned five consecutive Grammy nominations and two wins for mastering in the Best Historical Album category.
Seth currently works out of Sterling Sound, Manhattan's preeminent mastering facility. He has a bachelors in Music from Rutgers University and previously worked at Sony Music Studios and Universal Mastering Studios.
